Ideal Union-Nocturnal Garden

The full title should read: "Ideal Union of the Nocturnal Garden", but apparantly I'm too wordy.

In total, I spent over 250 hours on this illustration (not counting all the prep work and sketches, etc). It was created with a set of 7 Koh-I-Noor Rapidiograph pens, and the time spanned around 5 months.

The culmination of the thought behind this piece stems from the point between conciousness and subconciousness, and the ability to dilineate thought from such a unique perspective. Several parts of the piece focus exclusively on a personal thought about the similarity between opposite emotions as being the same general form of emotional energy spent in an opposite direction, ie love/hate, fear/pride, etc. Certain prescribed environmental conditions also come into contact, blurring the lines. The general representation was to show the contrast between polar opposites of emotional as well as functional entities (man versus woman or organic versus synthetic as well as the already described emotional opposites). This piece represents my entire set of thoughts and emotions up until it's finish.
